What Religion Was Most Popular in Macedonia during the time of Alexander the Great?

For a project. I thought I was ‘Pagan’ but I don’t know if thats correct.
And if you could, get me a website on the religion. (If you don’t thats fine)

THanks
Oh and one more thing, if you know this, is the religion that was most popular still used today?

They believed in the 12 Gods of Olympus as all Greeks in ancient times.
Greece is a Christian Orthodox country today.

What is the difference between spirituality and religion? What about spirituality and ethics?

What is the difference between spirituality and religion?

I’ve always been confused between the differences of these three things. Although fairly similar, I don’t think they’re the same thing. If you had to say, what do you think the difference between spirituality, religion, and ethics are?

Detailed explanations and maybe even examples would be well appreciated :-D

in my opinion, believing life had a creator doesn’t make a person spiritual
i think you can believe that someone made dna, without believing that people have souls, or an afterlife.

i think that being spiritual doesn’t make one automatically religious, you can believe we have a soul/spirit, without believing in god.

a religious person usually believes both, and has a set system of practices and specific beliefs based on that belief. religion usually has it’s own set of ethical standards.

i think a person can be ethical regardless of which category they fall into,
unfortunately the word itself means many things to many people.

Does every religion accept its own God only and no others? Are there any religions that share Gods?

And if every religion rejects all other Gods isn’t that rather similar in some ways to the atheists’ position?
.

exactly. if every religion claims that their god is the right one, doesn’t that clearly show that there may be none at all ?? religion is a stupid fairytale concept. people should seriously wake up from this delusion.

What religion are you, and how do you know that one is truth?

Please do not just claim that it feels right. Every religion feels right to the people in it.
I mean, what proved to you that this is the one, true, guaranteed, truth?
An example of this is….
Muslims and Catholics are do not agree, and are opposites on several things, but both have people that believe in their religion so much that that will kill, and die for it. Both can not be true, so at least one, possibly both, feel right, but are not right.
Disregarding the "feeling right" what proof do you have that your religion is the truth?

Any religion – it is the opium for the people.
People by nature of the soul – egoists. Everybody wants to live forever.
Having something if not here, but at least somewhere after.
Those men of genius, who came first thought of to create a paradise in heavens and hell under the earth, in fact, nothing particularly clever not invented. They just gave people something that people yearn for. And people want – immortality. And they – got this. At least in the form of faith in this beautiful nonsense. People do not want ugly truth. They want a fairy tale.

Sparks from the fire, too, might wants to be eternal. But it goes into nothingness under the pressure of imminent rule: "Nothing is eternal under the Moon."

Nothing is eternal under the Moon
and nothing new.
And everything associated with you,
just word – a moment of the toon.

What is the difference between a good religion and a bad religion?

It should be obvious that I think all religions are wrong. I don’t, however think that religion is bad in all respects. It can give people a moral base and give people direction in life. For the most part however, I believe that things that aren’t or can’t be proven should be set aside until proven. I believe that filling people’s heads with unprovable theories is generally a poor way to deal with problems.
What does everyone think makes a particular religion more worthy of being accepted in society than another?

The good religion believes that The Lord Jesus Christ has died for the sins of the sinners and rose again

Are the nature sound recordings music belonging to the New Age spirituality?

Question: I am listening to nature sound recordings on CDs : birdsong, river sound, ocean waves sound, sound of the rain forest while I try to think to nothing and relax. Does that mean I am practicing yoga?

Answer: No, it means you are listening to new age music

Is this true? Am I listening to music belonging to the New Age spirituality? If so, tell me, because I don’t like New Age spirituality. Please respect my likes and dislikes.

*sigh*

No, nature sounds are not "New Age". They’re NATURE SOUNDS. Nature sounds aren’t affiliated with a particular spiritual path.

If you enjoy it, it’s perfectly harmless and you shouldn’t worry any more about it.

What is spirituality, spirit, all other forms of the word?

Is it just a cover up for being religious. Cause religion tends to have a negative connotation attached to it. So tell me, what exactly is a spirit? Is it tangible, or feelings, something you feel? If so, that’s just neurological processes. Humans are just animals, with higher intelligence. Do only humans have spirits? Just tell me what a spirit is, and spirituality, what it means to be spiritual.

Spirituality as defined by the wisdom of Kabbalah is acquiring the quality of bestowal. Right now human beings function according to the quality of reception for themselves and only for themselves. As soon as a person reverses this quality and starts to give instead of receive that person starts to live and feel the spiritual world. I’m not talking about giving money, or anything material, i’m talking about the intention with which a person functions on a daily bases. A person who has achieved spirituality is in intention of bestowal at all times. There are very few souls in history of our world that have achieved spirituality, Adam, Abraham, the ARI, Baal HaSulam to name a few. These people are called Kabbalists. The interesting thing about humanity today is that we are being pushed towards a global spiritual awareness and existence. All of humanity must attain the quality of bestowal in order to continue to exist.

There is a great, free online class that starts next week that goes into a lot of detail about what it means to be spiritual, and what spirituality really is: http://www.kabbalah.info/course/lc/?utm_source=yahooanswers&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=lc-spring-2010

I hope that is helpful.

What religion can you relate to and respect the most other than your own?

Please state what religion you are, the religion answering the question, and why.

If you are atheist or agnostic please answer as well.

I’m Christian. The religion I relate to the most is Judaism. Because that is the religion which Our Lord Belonged to.

What religion is it where you cannot touch the serving silverware tot he plate?

My sister told me that there is some religion that if the serving silverware touches your plate then you aren’t allowed to eat. Is that true? If it is, then what religion is it?

That sounds more like customary manners than religion. What does that have to do with morality and the divine? I never heard of that.
