We can all get in little groups and discuss ways of how we can keep atheism from being declared a Religion.
We can have pie and coffee…

Coffee you say?

Hmm…

Sounds like a plan to me.

  11. You would have to make a different word up. According to the dictionary any belief is considered a religion. Those who gather for the one fact of talking of one belief is considered as such. These aren’t the exact words of the dictionary…but you get the point

Hey can some of theists come too? I’ll behave myself (truth is I really don’t think it’s my job to tell others how to live).

  14. They don’t want to see atheists who share an opinion, because we are a danger to them. I think the people on this forum who do say atheism is a religion are the most right wing, in fact some just come here all day to type ‘Atheism is a religion’ thats not just because they are robotic and stupid it is because that they must discredit us by all means, they have had a hammering recently and we are beginning to turn them off the top spot.

  15. That would be a political action committee. If you were to call yourself a church then you’d be operating illegally and any assets you incorporate would be subject to dissolution (Liquidating your stuff and giving it away to non-profits) at the states discretion if you did not include articles of dissolution in your articles of incorporation. (And doing so would only allow you to chose which non-profits they give your stuff to)

  17. A religion based around the concept of absolutely nothing? Not the belief in something, but the fervent belief in the absence of a thing. That may get you points for originality, but no one would join. A total information vacuum just doesn’t offer enough motivation.

There are atheist religions. Atheism is not a religion. People an call it that. Xenu can come and become emperor of the world, tear up our dictionaries, and put out a new one that says atheism is a religion. That doesn’t make it true.

  21. Sounds fun, even though I’m not an Atheist.
I’d join that religion, if it has pie and coffee.
Especially if it was lemon pie. I love lemon pie.

No cake though. The cake is a lie.

  22. Sure. And as soon as people start meeting, someone will want to be in charge, and start making rules about how people should behave, and then it WILL be a religion. Who needs that? Life is too short.

    you cant do that
because we have freedom of religion
thats if the atheist get together and do the same but for ur religion
ppl do and believe in whatever they want
ppl like you need to let other ppl live
if they dont believe in god thats their problem not yours
as long as they dont try to shove their religion on others its ok
and a lot of religious ppl do that and thats not cool

  25. A religion is an organized approach to human spirituality which usually encompasses a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices, often with a supernatural or transcendent quality, that give meaning to the practitioner’s experiences of life through reference to a higher power or truth.

However, I think you are missing the point of spirituality entirely here. If you are truly practicing the principals of spirituality in all your affairs then you are in direct violation of what it represents. Hence, spirituality requires open mindedness, humility, tolerance, penitence, patients, acceptance, selflessness etc… It is not about individuality to your beliefs. It is not about using your higher power to persecute, condemn or judge others based on their difference of belief but rather to accept them for what they are and to tolerate them no matter what their differences may be. That is a true example of selflessness and acceptance.
