What is a good prayer for after killing an inocent animal?
a snapping turtle bit my curious puppy on the lip. She started bleeding like crazy and i did not know where she had been bit or how severe. While my brother tended to her i smashed the turtles shell in with a big rock. I have never seen anything suffer more in my life. It is now the next day and i still feel like shit. Could someone either give me a prayer or something that will make me feel better or at least take my mind off of it.

pray to god that you are sorry, and if you really are, it’s forgiven, in his eyes. it like confesion. im sorry you had to do that. one time i ran over a group of praying mantises with a lawn mower because they bit me. i felt horrible and throw them in the street.lol. and i prayed to god that i was sorry for killing them, and i lighted up. its called remorse

Truthfully its a fucking turtle I don’t think God Cares, He has better things to worry about. Just don’t kill anymore turtles if it makes you feel that bad.

My Bible says "Thou shall not murder." This leaves open the possibility for just killing.
If you see someone, a human let us say, suffering because another human is torturing them, would you feel worse for having stopped the suffering by killing the torturer or for having left the other to be tortured?
If it was to end a suffering, innocently or ignorantly caused, you are not to be blamed, dear. You took action to end a misery. I cannot say it was a mitzvah, but you should not berate yourself for your choice. To continue to wallow in your own guilt would be self indulgent and self absorbed.
If you must pray over this, ask for guidance and calm, so that you can understand this act in reference to the bigger picture.

You have a kind heart kid! Dear Lord i ask you to comfort little s. at this time , thank you for showing him its not right to take somethings life. I believe the acted without realizing what he was doing, he only wanted to protect his little puppy. I ask you lord to use this example to teach s. love & compassion for every living thing.
