I don’t think anyone can argue that the dinosaurs existed. But does religion talk about them as being on earth before humans?

I have been in love with the subject of theology for all my life. I am a double major of Philosophy and Religious studies and planning on getting a masters-doctorate in Theology.

I know I want to become either a deacon or pastor, but say I change my mind, what jobs are out there that are comforting and relaxing (not hardcore competitive) with a doctorate in Theology?

What exactly are the requirements to become a church convention speaker/leader/organizer? Can I become some sort of religious advisor/councelor for people with problems they need to talk about?

Reformed Theology;

1) The total depravity of man, which states that man is pure evil, man is fallen from grace and is fully deserving of the righteous judgement of God.

2) The choosing of God that is unconditional, and only based on the will of God. The fact that God will have mercy on whom he chooses, and he will hate whom he chooses, which allows Him to be absolute sovereign.

3) The atonement of Christ for his people. This shows that Christ’s blood was 100% efficient for his people, and that his work on the cross was absolutely efficient and perfect in every way and form. No works is neededm, Christ’s work was perfect and sufficient for his people for salvation.

4) The work and grace of God that is irresistable. The fact that God’s will is accomplished 100%. This teaches that whoever God wants to be saved will happen, and his grace is irresistable.

5) The eternal security of the believer, those that are truly born of God, will not fall away from him, because God’s will is so powerful, it cannot be broken by any man, which makes His sheep, eternally secure.

Pope: Theology provides stability to man

admin on October 21st, 2009

During the general audience, Benedict XVI reflected on the relationship between faith and reason. This time he remembered the great intellectual contribution made at the Abbey of St. Victor in Paris and in particular the work of monks Hugo and Richard of St. Victor.

Benedict XVI
These great Victorines, Hugh and Richard, remind us that Theology is grounded in the contemplation born of faith and the pursuit of understanding, and brings with it the immense joy of experiencing the eternal love of the Blessed Trinity.
According to the Pope when striving for the theological virtues one also meets, in human terms, stability and maturity. Thats why Benedict XVI encouraged to live for and by the people.

Benedict XVI
How much would the world change if in families, in parishes and in any community, relationships were modeled on the three divine Persons, who not only live with each other, but for and through one another.

The general audience has celebrated Paul VI. According to the Vatican more than 7 thousand pilgrims were in attendance.

Someone close may have cancer. I am going to the hospital to pray over them, and looking through my bible to see what may be a good, inspirational verse. Any good ones?

Thank you for asking this, I would recommend praying to the Lord that He would give you a verse. All of God’s word is inspirational, and it is when He makes it alive in us that it becomes special to us. The Lord opens our eyes and hearts to see those precious promises that He gives to us in His word, how precious His word is! I would love to share some verses that I love and that I am thinking of right now that have to do with praying for someone.

Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent Prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

I have prayed for you and your friend,
with sincerity in Christ,
andrew
